Love is the commitment of your will to your spouse’s (spouse, kids, co-workers, family, friends, enemies, refugees, guy that just cut you off) needs and best interest, regardless of the cost.
Grace is giving your spouse (spouse, kids, co-workers, family, friends, enemies, refugees, guy that just cut you off) something he or she desperately needs, but doesn’t deserve.
BOOK: Grace Filled Marriage: The Missing Piece. The Place to Start. Dr. Tim Kimmel Worthy Publishing, Sep 10, 2013
Grace begins when one person is full and another is empty. One person is a have and the other a have-not. One is rich; the other is poor. Then grace comes into action as the emptiness of one is filled up by the fullness of the other. What we do not have is supplied by what he has. Our poverty is replaced by his wealth. And all that not because we deserve it. JP. Remember this… it helps with living empathetically.
The glory of God is the infinite beauty and greatness and worth of God’s many parts and forms of perfection. The infinite beauty of his character, his love, and his worth, his attributes, his plan etc etc.
God made humans in his image so that the world would be filled with reflectors of God. Images of God. The angels cry in Isaiah 6:3, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory!” It’s full of millions of human image bearers.
The universe is declaring the glory of God and the reason we exist is to see it and be stunned by it and glorify God because of it.
This world exists for the glory of God’s grace revealed in the saving work of Jesus.
“Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father who is in heaven” (Matthew 5:16).
My purpose is to Glorify God forever. My purpose is to enjoy God forever.
1 Corinthians 10:31
So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.
In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will, so that we who were the first to hope in Christ might be to the praise of his glory.
1 Peter 2:9
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvellous light.
Paul says the purpose of his grace-spreading ministry is for God’s sake. “It is all for your sake, so that as grace spreads to more and more people it may increase gratitude to the glory of God.
